I don’t know what the wine is, but yes, it’s dry. I like a dry wine but this is a little too pink for me. I prefer a gentle blush, like a Provence. I’ve no idea why they call it chicken wine because I’ve never seen the bottle to see a chicken on it or taste any chicken in it!
Mr. Whippy swirl: I know that's an ice cream but it means something different in my world...
squid suckers: that's like calamari, right? :)
that pic of the lagoon at night with the ships reminds me of that final scene in Rescue from Gilligan's Island where the castaways are having their private Christmas reunion party on the Minnow II boat.
I'm struggling with the concept of chicken wine...made from a real, fermented chicken? It's Croatia, so anything is possible. Rock on and party hard - endless summer.
I don’t know why they sometimes call it chicken wine, I have no idea. I can report that it doesn’t taste anything like chicken and no chickens were used in the process, so the concept behind this is beyond me but it must work because it made me want to have some.
Yes, I am prone to wanting to enjoy myself. However, even I’m getting sick of heat now. I’m looking forward to cardigans and a breeze on my face.!
Never saw the bottle, Ed but I’ll take your word for it. Unusually, it didn’t taste as nice as a French rosé, but that could’ve been because I had too much cevapcici!
The only chicken wine I know is a French rose, kind of dry, $10 a bottle, and has a chicken on the label. So not sure I’m up for that.
But… food! Croatia has some good food. No squid or octopus for me though. Don’t like it. Even chicken wine isn’t going to help me get it down. 🙂
Gorgeous photos as always.
Pasticada - stew! That’s amazing!

Thank you, Al!

one day I'll ride one of those duckboats...

Squid, calamari - eww. No suckers for me.
Yes, how the other half live on their yachty yachts! But I bet they aren’t having the same fun as I was with the chicken wine! *)
Sounds like a perfect holiday to me 😁.
We often travel with friends and it always is a win. But friends must be chosen well!! Some "plans" are dead the second they are said out loud 😜.
Thanks and santé 🥂, Jules.
Now get your Rosé cooled. The next heatwave is coming (already 37° over here...)
Yes, Heike, I think you’re right in that the friends must be chosen well! That makes all the difference!
The heatwaves are insane at the moment. You be careful out there! Rosé Provence at the optimal sipping temperature 🥂

"Chicken wine" is actually a French rosé, not a Croatian pink wine.
It features a prominent sketch of a rooster and hen on the label
