Whimsy on a Wednesday bringing you wine tasting, wandering Italian shores, and the accidental discovery of a photography series inspired by looking at the world through a glass of rosé.
The food was great, Al. The weather was about 30C with an occasional storm so can't complain.
I did take a sketchbook and managed one quick painting whilst sitting on a ferry but otherwise didn't do anything. I tend to stick to photography when away as you can capture that perfect moment and move on! Good painting references!
Miss those marmalata Brioche! I know, but you wouldn't appreciate it if you were there all the time and you'd be yearning for a Sunday dinner and your garden!
No, sadly. I did suggest hiring a boat but the cost was astronomical. We looked into other boat trips but again, way too expensive. Everything has gone flying up and all sights are being monetised to death. It's a shame. I'm glad I went back in the day when it was less commercial.
Looks like you had a wonderful time!
I love that last photo... and the word play. But shouldn't it be Rosé Tinted Glasses ?
I certainly did!
Of course it should but I’ve had too much wine!
Well, doody. This tale of Italy has spoiled my upcoming vacation in McKeesport, PA.
Hahaha! That was funny, Roger.
Oh, I don’t know, dead man’s hollow looks pretty cool! Anything American is very cool to me!
What a fantastic place to visit, it all looks very delicious........
Better than the dentist, cakes! 😆 it’s good to have you back xx
Food looks wonderful. Great weather for the most part. You certainly were spoiled. Did you get any painting inspiration?

Reading it made me yearn to still be there basking in the sun at a lakeside cafe eating marmalade croissants with Herr Smitt

Yes that’s true but would love to be able to get over there when ever I wanted. Need a lottery win!
Did you do any sailing on the lake? I imagine a wine-and-food tasting on the water at sunset.

loving the 360 panoramic photo of that mini Colosseum at the start.
Juliet Smith!!! that's how I first knew you, remember? :)
when I think of limoncello my mind immediately goes to Stanley Tucci's bald head. that's cool but I want my drink straw to be a spaghetti.
taking a ride on that Roman Holiday Vespa is the only way I'll feel pretty like Audrey Hepburn. or that inflatable duck boat :)
that photo at the end of the modern-day Romeo & Juliet balcony is nice work, mah dahlin.
vacations are the best!!! oh have you ever been to Monaco during the Monaco Grand Prix?
*)
Yes, it looks cool doesn't it!
Julietta Jellybobble as I started out. Forever behind the mask.
I have since ordered pasta straws from Amazon because pasta here is not long enough!
Yeah, that scooter is iconic. Had to be taken.
I've been to Monaco but not during Grand Prix. That would be too much moolah! *)
