Yes, they most certainly are, Al! And if you've got them and bacon you're onto a winner in life!
By the way - here's my beans on toast recipe. Toast buttered. Hot baked beans (preferably Heinz) on top then grate cheese and put under a grill (broil) take out and put a fried or poached egg on top. Thank me later.
that's a fabulous idea, mah dahlin, everyone bring their own goblet, and the goblet is the same one as the vicar's goblet. think of everyone in line holding their own goblet, that would be quite the atmospheric scene!!! now that's a ritual!!!
and when you get up to the vicar he makes a little joke about how his goblet is really Monty Python's Holy Grail...
when I was an altar boy the priest told me his favorite part of the Mass was when he got to drink the extra wine in the chalice, "priest's privilege," he'd say.
Couldn’t you bring a hip flask decanted from a fine Costco box wine that could be transsubstantiated in the actual blood of the long dead Jesus? The alternative is a pie in the face.
I could ask. I've got some very nice wines I could bring. I could strike up a deal.with the vic. I could do it whilst in clown nose to elevate the request to a certain level.
Stick with the cheap boxed wine for those occasions and let the clown nose speak for itself. It gives the box wine a better "nose" - shaboom, rimshot - I'll be here all week.
Hmmmm. In our place we get individual servings in a mini cup.
And it's typically grape juice.
You won't get that in high church. I admire the efficiency but I'm sticking with the port!
Heh… you forgot the doggies.. they are an important part of a balanced life. Plus bacon. And toast with beans. Did I mention bacon?

You could convert to Judaism. On Passover we all get our own wine.
Bloody hell, if I'd known that I'd have come over sooner!

Right? It would be magnificent! A cultish ritual of goblet glory! I think Jesus would like it. *)
When I was an altar boy, we would drink out of the cruets before the priest got his.
Of course, many was the day where we had to go to the rectory and wake him up from his drunk.
