A Plea For Humanity: Part 1

And the Angel said:

In this expanse of the heavenly realms, oh great celestial choir, I stand before you my angels with a plea for humanity—a plea born from witnessing the extraordinary essence of the human spirit.

Look upon them, heavenly hosts, for they possess a unique blend of qualities and quirks that distinguish them in the cosmos. They carry within them the spark of divinity, and their potential for good is boundless.

Witness the kindness that resides within their hearts. They have the capacity to love, to empathise and to embrace the suffering of others as their own. They offer solace and support to those in need, their compassion transcending boundaries and illuminating the darkest corners of existence.

Marvel at their resilience and courage, for in the face of adversity, they rise, like the phoenix from the ashes. The strength they summon to endure trials and tribulations and to persevere through loss is a testament to the uncrushable spirit within them.

They are ready to give themselves to lift others higher. In their generosity they find purpose and joy, knowing that their actions can alleviate the burdens of their fellow man. Their willingness to sacrifice, to serve, and to save lives, demonstrates a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of all souls.

And let us not overlook their quirks, those endearing idiosyncrasies that make them who they are. Their laughter, their dreams and hopes—they are a symphony of imperfections that create a beautiful hum of humanity. Their diversity and individuality is a beautiful creation.

In this plea, I beseech you, dear heavenly host, to continue to guide and bless humanity. Embrace them with your divine grace, for in their goodness they mirror the eternal love that binds us all. Bestow upon them the blessings of wisdom and understanding so that they may continue to grow and evolve and reach their full potential.

May they, with open hearts and kindred souls, rise above their differences and join hands in a dance of compassion and unity. For it is in their union and benevolence that the true beauty of their existence lies; a beauty that echoes throughout the cosmos and resonates within the halls of heaven.

In my recent brush with death (that you’re aware of) which was more of a passing glance than at firm commitment, there were no angels or demons, Jules. That singing in the distance seemed to be coming from the Corpse hall. And since I was carrying a handgun (concealed), as I routinely do, I might have been carried there by Valkyrie almost inadvertently — because it was only a brush with death. It reminds me of the famous Irish toast, “May you get to heaven a half hour before the devil knows you’re dead”.

Well, there might have been angels working in the background…

That’s a good toast.

Agreed!…and, yes, an excellent toast.

We VM blog partakers are the happy recipients that LL cheated the Reaper…this time around…”for when the bell tolls for thee…all we can do is smile back.” (to torture a smash up of Hemingway and Maximus)

Yes, I’m very happy he did. I can’t even think about such a thing.

There’s nothing like a good smash-up, Paul!

seductive, mah dahlin, I can’t make out the dimensions of this pic, which is perfect for an angel, she is elusive. is that her face or the tear in her eye? she’s melty, dripping like candlewax into my soul, swaying to and fro from view. I can tell she has long hair tho…

rise like the phoenix, yes, I need this, I need my namesake to work, I’m at end-stage ashes.

solemn prayer, I tried to show this to my brother monks but they all sleep till noon…

An interpretive piece leaves a lot to the imagination. They’re my favourite because I like to know what people see.

I see wings. Tired wings working hard for humanity. *)

Some of the best evocative prose I have read in a while…exceptional. (I’ll be pondering this throughout the day, assuming I can keep the wolves at bay.)

Don’t worry, I have the wolves!

It’s the ever increasing wolves who stray off the reservation that are of concern, yours being well behaved and all…unless someone breaches the Marmalade Cottage outer gate, then all bets are off.

I’d love to meet those stray wolves! Though I’m sure they can be troublesome. Even well behaved ones are!
Oh yes, nobody bothers me. Not twice.
